About this Resume

Nathan Newman II

This resume design was created with just one GIF graphic – used as a repeating "tiled" background. It requires a basic knowledge of HTML and an intermediate knowledge of HTML tables.

Note the following:

  • Border: The "bordered" effect around the edges of the resume was created with a table. The settings on the table are as follows: border, 15; cell space, 3; cell pad, 25

  • Graphics / Design: Any "style appropriate" graphic can be used with this format. In this case, we used Mocha, a custom-made GIF graphic (created in Photoshop) with a rich brocade look. Because there is only one graphic file (under 2.7K), this Web resume will load quickly. Check out our Free Web Resume Graphics for additional Web resume graphics.

  • Type: Standard HTML/web-safe fonts were used in this sample. The name and category headings are Verdana (bold) in sizes 6 and 5, respectively. The body text is Arial size 2. The font color and all links are black (#000000).

  • Navigation System: Navigation buttons were placed at the top and bottom to help the viewer find information quickly.

  • Navigation Table Formatting: The row of "navigation buttons" was created with HTML tables, using various Cell Spacing, Border, and Cell Padding settings (plus the light and dark border settings) to achieve the desired effect (Cell Padding=5, Cell Spacing=3, and Border=1). HTML color #CCCC99 (a dark gold) was used as the accent color. The border itself is dark brown (#33300).
